Illman-03-547

This week's #WorkerWednesday has us feeling starstruck! This image from John C. Illman Collection features a couple of celebrity locomotives. Here we see crew members aboard McCloud River Railway 2-6-2 steam locomotive no. 25 and Yreka Western 2-8-2 steam locomotive no. 19 as they pull an excursion train near Mt. Shasta, California, on June 9, 1962. No. 19 was the 'star' of movies such as "Night Train to Terror," and "Emperor of the North," while no. 25 was featured in "Bound for Glory" and "Changeling." Both appeared in Rob Reiner's 1986 coming-of-age drama, "Stand by Me."
